Flying Boats

The concept of aircraft being able to takeoff and land from water goes back to the early 1920’s, numerous aircraft were designed and built throughout the world. Probably the largest was Howard Hughes’s Spruce Goose with the Short Sunderland and the Catalina giving sterling service during the Second World War.
