Royal Air Force Stations

Sadly some of our major RAF stations have closed but have left behind fond memories of years gone by and some fine aircraft operating from them. With the remaining operational bases spread across the Country, such as Kinloss, Lossiemouth and Leuchars in Scotland. Leeming and Linton-on-Ouse in North Yorkshire. Cranwell, Scampton and Waddington in Lincolnshire. Cottesmore in Leicestershire and Wittering in Cambridgeshire. Marham in Norfolk. Brize Norton and Lyneham in Oxfordshire, and Valley in Wales. This about covers the RAF active Stations apart from odd bases with training aircraft mixed in among them. With the possibility of more closures in the pipeline, such as Scampton and Lyneham, it is very likely that the RAF's remaining aircraft will be congregated at a smaller amount of bases.
