The Red Arrows are probably one of the best air display teams in the world. They have been thrilling people throughout the world for nearly fifty years. The Red Arrows are officially known as The Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team. They are based at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire. The Red Arrows were formed in 1964 with seven Folland Gnat training aircraft, which was increased to nine aircraft in 1966. They operated with the Gnat until late 1979, when they received the Hawk T1.
Since forming in 1964, The Red Arrows have performed over 4,000 displays in 53 Countries. The first display by The Red Arrows was at Little Rissington on 6th May 1965.

The Red Arrows have just finished at there training camp in Greece, and arrived back at RAF Scampton on 29th May 2022. This season they will be flying seven aircraft formations during there displays.
