The Hawk first flew in 1974 and has been sold to 18 customers around the World. It is still in production with over 900 Aircraft being built. The Hawk was a new twin seat fast Jet training Aircraft designed to replace the Folland Gnat. The Hawk is in service with the RAF at the moment with 19 R and 208 R Squadrons at RAF Valley in Wales, 100 Squadron at RAF Leeming, Yorkshire and probably the most famous operator The Red Arrows at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire.
